What we need to teach our kids and what we can let go. I've often said I don't want to say "because I said so" as my only reason for a rule, so my general guide is that I need to have a good reason to explain to my kids why they can/can't do something if they ask "why/why not?".
Would you mind posting the part about the slide on the PittsburghMom blog? I think it really gives everyone something to think about!hstarrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11819684707651354272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360057689777608056.post-70654413564424041182008-05-02T19:04:00.000-04:002008-05-02T19:04:00.000-04:00No kids yet, but I had to say that I loved climbin...No kids yet, but I had to say that I loved climbing up the slide when I was a little kid. My sister and I would take turns climbing to the top and then sliding back down. I think if you are observant and make sure he doesn't decide to do this when others are using the slide, you should be okay.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11142093816185944116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360057689777608056.post-63670920447516531072008-04-29T12:04:00.000-04:002008-04-29T12:04:00.000-04:00see, you guys are pointing out my major concern......see, you guys are pointing out my major concern.... collision...

while i am not one to let max just run wild... i have a hard to telling him how to play.

but, i also agree that there has to be rules... man... being a parent is hardCarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14857278504976581447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360057689777608056.post-82517424728093225282008-04-29T10:48:00.000-04:002008-04-29T10:48:00.000-04:00I have the same rule as Anna. And I hate it when mothers allow their children to climb up the slide when Noah's at the top -- because again, he doesn't know that if he comes down while another child is climbing up, there will be a collision and someone is going to get hurt.Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05529839842572024398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360057689777608056.post-75027047251356642222008-04-29T07:41:00.000-04:002008-04-29T07:41:00.000-04:00Hi Cara! I don't want to confuse him and I figure it's easier to have one consistent rule.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03333663662572624984noreply@blogger.com
